Construction officially began March 1, 2010, on the new Fridley Medical Center on Unity Hospital's campus, and we are excited to see progress on these plans that will bring expanded health care services to the north metro community.
This two-story, 60,000 square-foot medical office building will be located on the Northwest corner of the Unity Hospital Campus. It will house the Virginia Piper Cancer Institute™ at Unity, in partnership with Minnesota Oncology, and a Multicare Associates primary care and specialty clinic. A pharmacy and rehabilitation clinic will also be located in the building.
Construction on the site will be limited to the hours of 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays. We hope the construction will have minimal impact on our neighbors.
In addition to the building, you will also see expanded parking lots and a new entry to the campus from 5th Street. The design of the entry was created to only allow people to exit to the right, restricting traffic from entering the neighborhood. New trees and landscaping will be added to the campus later this summer to provide a serene, healing environment for both our neighbors, and our patients and their families.
Construction and landscaping are scheduled to be complete the end of October.
We plan to have an open house to celebrate and introduce the new building and services to the community and hope you’ll join us.
