2010 Crystal Ball: A Night of Stars
The 2010 Crystal Ball will be held at the Courtyards of Andover Saturday, April 10 (see the event brochure). This annual fundraising gala is our largest benefit of the year, with this year's proceeds to support the Family Birth Centers and other Women's and Children's programs and services at Mercy and Unity hospitals. In 2009, the Crystal Ball raised more than $300,000 to support a state-of-the-art cancer center at Unity Hospital, and an emergency fund for oncology patients struggling to make ends meet, due to the cost of treatment.
This year’s event, A Night of Stars, is an awards show-themed evening of dinner, entertainment, silent and live auctions, and other special activities. The night will celebrate the exciting and sometimes uncertain experience of welcoming a child into the world. Mothers have a choice in where they deliver their baby, and often spend months searching for the hospital that suits them best. Our goal is to continue Mercy and Unity's tradition of providing mothers and their newborns outstanding care in a welcoming and healing environment, close to home.
To achieve this goal, Mercy and Unity hospitals will use proceeds from the Crystal Ball to provide support services for families with complicated or high-risk pregnancies, equipment and furnishings to enhance the care and atmosphere of our birth centers, professional education for physicians and staff, and parent support groups and classes.
The red carpet rolls out at 6 p.m., we hope you'll join us for a memorable evening in support of our hospitals. Tickets for A Night of Stars are $150 each, and are partially tax deductible. For more information, tickets, or to donate to this event, view the event brochure, call the Mercy & Unity Hospitals Foundation office at 763-236-8199 or e-mail MUHF@allina.com.
