Allina's River Falls Area Hospital contributes $1500 to River Falls Area YMCA
RIVER FALLS, Wisc. 03/26/2010--Representatives of River Falls Area Hospital recently presented a check for $1500 to the River Falls Area YMCA. The contribution will help provide membership financial assistance, ideally to families with children, so that financial resources will not be a barrier to those wanting to improve their health through regular physical exercise.

“This contribution is aligned with Allina’s commitment to reducing childhood obesity and promoting heart healthy living,” explained hospital President David Miller.
“We know that one of the best ways to reduce childhood obesity and improve heart health is by increasing physical activity. With this contribution, we are supporting our local YMCA as it works to provide families in our region with an opportunity for regular physical activity. In particular, we have asked that our contribution be used to provide scholarships to families who would otherwise be unable to take advantage of the resources offered by the YMCA.”
Joining Miller to make the presentation were Hospital Board Members Mary-Alice Muraski and Dr. Jack Palumbo. The check was received by YMCA Executive Director Tom Holland and YMCA Board Members Max Neuhaus, Alison Page, Don Piepgras and Don Richards.
