The Cambridge Medical Center Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the medical center. The Foundation supports our mission to serve our communities by providing exceptional care as we prevent illness, restore health, and give comfort to all who entrust us with their care.

Why the need?

The Foundation was formed in 2007 to ensure the stability and future viability of health care in this area. As a not-for-profit organization, Cambridge Medical Center reinvests its earnings to provide and expand services and facilities. However, earnings alone are not keeping pace with the ever growing health care needs of our community.

As its first priority, the Foundation Board will examine how they can support the medical center to ensure that the citizens of Isanti and surrounding area continue to benefit from the exceptional health services available at Cambridge Medical Center.

A proud tradition of giving back to the community

Most of us who live in and around the Cambridge area appreciate the high quality of life this area has to offer. We are proud of our fine schools, parks, churches, stores, and the recreational opportunities the lakes, rivers, and open areas offer. All these assets contribute toward making our community the wonderful place it is.

Cambridge Medical Center is also one of our community assets. Unlike 'for-profit' companies that exist to generate revenue for shareholders, Cambridge Medical Center is a 'not-for-profit' charitable organization that gives back and reinvests in the community. We do this in a number of ways, one of which is providing health care to all when they need it. No one is turned away from the Emergency Department. If a patient is unable to pay for the services, the medical center, in effect, pays for them. It's called charitable care.

The medical center provides millions of dollars of charitable contributions each year to our community and for many of our patients who cannot afford to pay for their medical care. In 2006, the medical center provided a grand total of $4.295 million in community services, subsidized health services, education and work force development, and cash and in-kind donations for the community's benefit. Included in this figure is over a million dollars of charity care to those who could not afford to pay for their medical care. Also included is $757,000 in costs the medical center incurred in excess of what Medicaid paid, a $668,000 Medicaid surcharge payment, and a Minnesota Care tax of over $1 million.

“Investing in the health and wellness of our communities”

The Cambridge Medical Center Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the medical center. The Foundation supports our mission to serve our communities by providing exceptional care as we prevent illness, restore health, and give comfort to all who entrust us with their care.

The Cambridge Medical Center Foundation provides a vehicle for area community members to partner with us by assisting with our mission of providing excellence in health care for our communities. All donations, memorials or bequests are tax deductible and are dedicated for use by the Cambridge Medical Center in our mission of providing services for the health and well-being of area’s residents.

The Foundation was established to ensure the stability and future viability of health care in this region. As a not-for-profit organization, Cambridge Medical Center reinvests its earnings to provide and expand services and facilities. However, earnings alone are not keeping pace with the ever growing health care needs.

Gifts to the Cambridge Medical Center Foundation can assist with providing advanced medical technology, improved facilities, or additional services and programs. Our goal is to provide the best possible care for the communities we serve in Central Minnesota.

How to give:

  • Gifts of cash
  • Securities
  • Planned giving through will or estate
  • Memorials or Honorariums—Gifts may be given to honor someone on a special occasion, in memory of or in thanksgiving.

Telefundraising

From time to time the Cambridge Medical Center engages in telefundraising campaigns to raise funds for various programs or services that impact the health of our community. For example, an upcoming fundraiser will be for concussion management testing called “Impact”. This concussion management test will be given to student athletes at the beginning of the season and again later in the season if there is a suspected injury. Proper treatment will be administered at the clinic prior to the student returning to normal activity.
